Hey Matt,

Your feedback is incredibly valuable, thank you!
First of all, before getting into the topic of videos, rest assured that the written articles are not going anywhere as I plan to keep publishing them every week for the foreseeable future.

I understand your concern about not being able to glimpse the whole content of a video, or skip over some sections. I need to work on that.
A little tip for the current videos though: most of them have embedded text that pops up, and that text stays up until the end of the video. So those bits of text build up and, at the end of the video, they should form an overview of the contents of the video.
Maybe you could peek towards the end of the video first, to see if the headings will interest you and are worth your time for watching more details about them?

Other ideas to improve on that aspect:
- writing more details in the post about what the video is about exactly,
- adding a transcript on the post below the embedded video,
- showing a sneak preview of the complete embedded text at the beginning of the video.

If you have an opinion on those suggestions I'd love to hear it too.

You see, I believe there is potential in the video format, and I'm prepared to put in the necessary work to make them valuable to you. I'll PM you more details about how I could get more of your feedback in an Agile way, if that's ok with you.

And, I know this wasn't your major concern, but I've ramped up my shooting equipment recently. So in a few weeks you should also see a difference in the look and feel of the videos.

Thanks again for your feedback!! :)

Hi Jonathan,

Today I had a chat about your blog with one of my colleagues and both of us had the same opinion:
great blog but we do not like the new video blogs - it simply takes to much time to follow:

First of all it is hard to figure out if the video might be interesting (personal opinion) and furthermore it is hard to skip parts of a video that are not interesting (personal opinion).

So before it took me about 5 minutes to read an article - to pick up the same information via video blog I have to double that amount of time...

How is the feedback of your colleagues and blog-readers on your new video blogs?

Cheers, Matt
